The Urban Research and Resource Center is working with various community organizations to develop an online resource exploring the rich history of African Americans in Houston. Told through oral and visual representations, the history will be presented from the unique perspective of the urban Houstonian.
In addition to the online resource, articles, publications, programs and initiatives will be developed to both support and enhance the telling of these unique histories, and provide institutional supports for the health and well-being of these communities moving forward.
